who would give a damn what I/you have achieved, right?
make the achievement more like a mmorpg style
where people needs eachother to accomplish it.

right now I only see 1 or 2 is party achievements.
think more for the newbie's, implement something like.

help (high lvls) the inexperience became professionals (new player)
+10lvsl l===l +20lvls l===l +30lvl

I agree that there should be rewards but not for the same reason. I dont know any other MMORPG with an achievement system besides WoW but it was like a game within a game, after you got bored with doing the main game stuff there was the achievement system to play with even though 99% of it didnt give a reward but it was just very satisfying to accumulate achievement points

it's not necessary to achieve those. which makes it more useless.
GM has to find a way to force them to accomplish the achievements.

achievements are meant to be forced to accomplish.

Im guessing you have never played WoW before. In WoW, many people don't care about achievements. I assume it will be the same type of people that don't care about them in DR as well. Some people like self achievements, some people like group achievements, some people don't like achievements at all.

Achievement system in DR is a great addition to the game since its MORE CONTENT that someone has available to do. More content in a game is always better, and you can't deny that at all. Its something to do when you are bored of leveling, bored of PKing, bored of all the other options.

So for you saying its useless, thats pretty selfish of you to say. If you don't like doing achievements, then don't do them. Quite simple. I just don't want to hear you whine when they add some nice rewards in the future for doing achievements  The way I see this going, is they will add some cool titles rewards, possible some special items for accomplishing a special achievement. This will be great!

Thanks,
Minipp

Achievements in my point of view is like an e-peen. You can either have a 3 inch long or a 15 inch long list.

When they add a "TOP ACHIVERS" list in main website maybe there will be some big competition about this. I think that most of them should not have rewards.

yes I never played WoW nor DR. this is actually my first time to play DR. having this achievement is great but not a good start for a situation like these. who would know that we have this new content. where to look for further explanations.
it's really critical. I say build up the website is what we have to do at this status. many links that contains "must know" informations is still not working. is it so hard to do a temporary link? ofcause we could come to the forum and ask. but would we get the answer instantly? players that never play DR don't even know how to speak DR. it's funny when people come to the forum just to ask "what is ac".

I got my informations on the HK server website.
It's sad when we have our own website but we're not actually using it. I know the website in under contraction. but could we at least get a temporary link for our new players?

PS: why always talk about WoW. stop comparing DR and WoW. and stop changing DR contents to be like WoW. whatever WoW has doesn't mean we should have it too. ok? thanks!

Indeed, but WoW got 20 million, with cool feature. Dr need get more player too, and should use WoW as an example.

That would be a informative type website. If you look at any MMORPG website you can see a large number thats goal isn't a information database but rather an attractive website. Their strategy is to make the game look as good as possible and give the bare minimum information (Features like classes, PK styles, pets, video, media, w/e) to bring new players in and have a "fansite section" or use their forums as the info database.

They don't spend the resources to make a informative website because it'll take hundreds of hours to do so when they can just let the players (Either in a small group or a large group with a Wiki) do it for free. The website DR has now is neither an attractive type nor a complete information database, there's no wrong or right way but the more efficient one is to make an attracting site.

I personally would prefer GMs to do a complete redesign of the website to be an attractive type, something that pleases the eye with original artwork and emphasizes on game features t+ have a fansite section to tell players sites that they can find information (LPs site for example and Sais wiki) since making a information site takes a really long time even for a game that doesn't have alot of content like DR and there's no point making the main site have all the info when there's already existing sites with the same thing.

We put out new content and we get bashed. We don't put out new content and we get bashed. Would you like to be our coder and feel how it is to be constantly bashed even when we do work? Keep in mind I'm not a coder and even I feel discouraged by posts like these. Imagine how our coders feel like. They are constantly putting out work and all they get are posts like these. I agree that website has to be changed and we have discussed that with each other. We first thought about employing mastered000 to redo our site, but he got perm banned on forums for trolling so he's out of the question. We are tackling a number of issues, like changing hosts, reworking war, and making the game more newb friendly. Changing the website is one of many things we have to do with limited number of people. I haven't gotten around writing up an update for the players on what our plans are but it will be out soon and it'll explain what our plans are to bring in new players and make the game more enjoyable for current players. So please be patient while we sort things out.

I know someone who designs websites and I can ask what his fee would be. He wouldn't take RE since he doesn't play DR. Good sites not this using free templates and modifying it a little and claim it's yours.

I just hope they don't make it TOO flashy. I hate sites that consume more resources than old games like DR lol.
