if by better you mean smaller you could run it in windowed mode :P i think most people do these days. its pretty hard to pk on 40" screen with 1080p resolution and full screen

this doesnt give you more view distance or anything. people think about how higher resolution will affect PK


Then maybe people should get jobs and join the year 2000. Not everyone has a 15" crt monitor anymore. Get with the times.

i was trying to say think of mages FBing you from miles away, because you could see more.

priests would be mega nerfed and wouldnt be able to kill anything anymore and warriors would have added hard time :P

I don't even see how this is an issue. Every other game you can choose your resolutions and see how far you want or how detailed or not you want it. You're basically catering to ten year olds with 10 year old monitors ^_^

If they want a higher resolution use their parents pc or get a job etc. The only people who are in disagreement are the kids who can't afford it. I could be wrong but I would think the bulk of players are 16 or older.

I just feel things like this holds it back to ten years ago and not today. Most people who are new aren't going to like window mode especially with the use of an auto clicker. I imagine new people will alot of times accidentally click out of the window and boot up a program. They come back and they will be dead.

Slick new interface + resolution options + making quests for tactics and levels will just bring DR up another notch.

I say everything needs to be reviewed.
this is a 10 yr old game that hasn't been upgraded for around 8 yrs.

As Kamos said, the DR code for interfaces is a complete mess. If for example you were to rescale the interface to an actual 1024x768, you'd have to reposition every single menu to the appropriate coordinates. Since it was coded for just one resolution, those values are set values and therefore are a mess to fix. Besides that, enlarging the resolution gives you a bigger sight of view, which is a nasty advantage over those that would run it in 800x600.

Reso of 1024x768 (notice the active combat skill icon still being misplaced, thats the same stuff that will happen to every menu)

Thats the thing, you are holding back a game for the sake of the minority instead of the majority. It's 2010 who owns a 13" monitor. A 22" lcd monitor is only 150 bucks now.

I can only think of this as an example:

Let's hold back on making windows 7 because some people in xp don't have the gear to do win7. Do they do that, nope.


I can understand that it would be difficult to code but after the majority of stuff is fixed that needs to be fixed I think this should then be a priority otherwise the game is always going to cater to small niche crowd.

Although the size in inches of a monitor has nothing to do with the actual resolution in pixels, you do have a valid point. Years ago the most used resolution was 1024x768, nowadays the larger percentage of users has at least 1280x1024.

DR could indeed easily do with a resolution upgrade, I'd let the 800x600 option stay though, although you'd see less than someone on 1024x768, but 800x600 might just be handier for jobbing in windowed mode or so.
