DR crash

Postby AntheMz » Tue Jun 01, 2010 3:03 pm

Hi, I'm using VMware to play DR (i think most players does, and i use 2 windows = 2 DR), My problem is.. my VMdr keep crash without any error (2 VMdr crash, quite often), early i thought its server problem, but after i keep analyzing the crash (looking at other ingame players) they got no crash or disconnection, so i wonder what caused my DR crash? and i got 2 friends is using VMware too, once we crash, we will crash together, huh??

wonder if i can get support from here? if yes im really very appreciate.

It crashes when there's a "hiccup" in your internet. Such as for a second you lose connectivity to your internet. Pretty much something in the client makes your client crash if you get dc'ed. It doesn't just lag/freeze, it'll just terminate your client. This happened to me a lot in the past too when I had crappy internet :/ My best suggestion would be:
1. if you're using wireless, try plugging your computer in using an Ethernet cable
2. don't run multiple VM's
3. close all other applications that are hogging your internet (torrents, web browsers, etc)
4. give more RAM to your vm. minimum 256MB.

Yes, like what you said "hiccup", freeze for while like 1~3sec, then the client will crash, and i did monitor my modem, its stable, no disconnection from the modem :?
1. I always use wired, wireless sucks on gaming.
2. 2 only.
3. DR only, connecting from Malaysia to play DR its not smooth already, if we download or watch youtube it will be unplayable :? ]
4. Ya, 256MB.

I had that happen constantly with my virtualPC. It's problems with how your vm and your internet connection is synced. Make sure you're using a NAT. If this happens too often then try another vm program perhaps? :/ I switched to VMWare and I don't have that problem anymore.
