Retrieval of Items on Banned Accounts

Postby LadyPhoenix » Sun May 02, 2010 6:46 pm

I have a question (mainly for GMs). How do you handle the problem of retrieving items from banned accounts? When a player is banned, all access to the account is banned.

What if there is a situation such as Player A goes to VD and is leveling there. Player B (in Player A's guild or a close friend of Player A) asks to go and leech but B doesn't have a star crest. So A lends B a star crest. After they go in, A forgets to ask for the SC back (or A has an extra SC and says give it back when we finish leveling). For some reason B ends up being AFK for more than 5 minutes and a GM gives a ban to B. Will A be able to appeal to the GMs to get his star crest returned?

In another situation where A lends B some rares to go "leveling" with but B ends up hacking and gets banned. Will A be able to appeal to get his items back from B's banned account?

I'm going to assume all of the account owner's items will be banned with the char but sometimes players borrow items which will be banned too.

why not? I lent some force items to a friend to do parry with on NR and he got banned over the weekend for a paypal problem and GMs retrieve my items for me. Each GM team have their own policy and if the team here won't return items, then that's fine. It's just nice to have an official answer now because such an incident does happen and people throw a shit fit over their items.

That is the risks one takes when they share items.
Items shouldn't be returned, because it is easy to lie about it.

I could just as well make G4s on another character, get banned for cheating, and say those items were not mine. I could have someone else claim them for me, only later to give them back to me on a new account after I've changed my IP.

Be reasonabel, please.

Each time a player will get banned, they will come up with this excuse, to get items.
Do you really think GMs have the time to check every single case?...

And if that aint reason enough.
As Sai already said it, you gotta take the risk and you gotta know whom u giving items to...

I'm fully aware of this. I just wanted an official answer to use for future reference if such a case comes up -.- I'm not supporting or against the return of items.

Do you really seriously need a contingency and subsection for each rule lp? You're getting pretty redic with this.
