Rare materials bugged?

Hello
I cannot get any rare materials such as whitebirch, sturgeon, basil, etc..
So far I have cutting or fishing some rare spots and none drop at all. I
have learn jobs items already and those materials are need for making DS
items, and for doing some of job quests. Is there a bug on the rare materials?

i dont think there's a bug... i've been getting some diamonds lately and that's one of those rare materials

Yes diamonds are able to be mined but how about
whitebirch? sturgeon? basil? I havent able get any
of those for past week going on many different rare spots.
Maybe I am missing something?
