Main Entry: par·ry
Pronunciation: \ˈper-ē, ˈpa-rē\
Function: verb
1 : to ward off a weapon or blow
2 : to evade or turn aside something
I never understood why parry exp is best gained by hitting monsters while holding a shield. A thief in VD can get 100-202 parry and not get hit 1 time. When a tank gets hit by a monster, the parry exp gain is so minimal you could afk tank for a week and maybe still not get 1 parry level just from the exp of getting hit.
I'd like to see parry tt be more dependent on getting hit and not just hitting while holding a shield. This would put a check on thief parry tt and give the tanking priests and warriors an advantage. If you tank a lot with a shield, you'd be more skilled with the shield, right? Anyone can hold a shield and never use it. Some possible suggestions (even made a poll for grofire):
option1:
-leave parry TT alone when hitting with a weapon
-increase parry TT from getting hit while wearing a shield
option2:
-remove parry TT from hitting with a weapon
-increase parry TT from getting hit while wearing a shield
option3:
-make a check so that parry TT only goes up while hitting if you have been hit by a monster in the past 10 seconds
-increase parry TT from getting hit while wearing a shield
option4:
-leave it alone
