i remember hearing the opposite of that... sword being faster then pike ...

same but i heard dex makes you attack faster which is why arab prob heard wht he heard...wish someone can clarify.. maybe one of those "know it allls" like proacker or gronthfire

if that were true than my archer would go OMGWTFBBQSPEEDHAX on everyone

dex does make you hit faster, but not noticable untill you add a very decent amount, I THINK

yep thats right i do remember playing with archer and at some point double hits just start to be more frequent then when you are low lvl but not THAT fast =P

i think that is tactic or weapon based, i olso remember a similar increase in double hit chance with high lvs of whirling in my priest

How about adding a second level to stat points so that they do more than just let you wear weapon/armor

STR: +1 attack AND magic power every 10 STR (to make this useful for warlock/templar)
DEX: +1% smart every 50 DEX
CON: +1 defense power every 10 CON
WIS: already gives + devine
INT: already gives + mana
MOVP: +1 movement speed every 50 MOVP
ENDU: already gives magic defence
LUCK: not coded

I personally dont like the idea of that bcoz some classes uses more stats that gives extra stats than others, no matter what kind of bonus it gives the stat. If wiz need mainly INT (dont gives mana), WS (it gives of course, how to get it then?), warrior normal char is getting more advantages just adding his necessary stats CON,STR. About CON,DEX and MOVP always is needed but some classes uses as natural states to make the char. and until a wiz get high dual cant get the real benefits of all this. So i think shouldnt change nothing about stats.

i think it would be good.. i would change just 3 things in your suggestion:
if movp increase your speed then it would be just the same as the better shoes already does and it will make classes run a lot more faster and they already move fast enough;
con already increase your hp i dont think we need any bonus on deffence, classes that are already too deffencive like priests would be even more imortal then they alread are;
str should increase only physical attack, priests and wizards can hit harder with staff i dont think str should give magic power

i think another thing that would be good is if there is a cap in how much bonus you can get from status so you dont get an ubber high bonus

ex: if you are a thief/archer you would get a really high smart effect since you have a lot of dex..

str: you mean 1% of spell/physical dmg every 10 str?
dex:attack rating
con:is already a main stat of all classes no need to give it a use
wis: i would say make wis give spell avoid
int: not sure
ps/ws: gives hp/mana/divine regen rates 3% every 10 points every 3 secs.
movp: 1% smart every 15 points
endu/cha:already gives
luck:as i put before negate part of enemy ac/ressists

as for how to balance this out i guess the best way will be to make classes main stat give only part of the bonus, as an example:

warriors get 1/5 of str
thieve and archers gets 1/5 of dex/movp
priest gets 1/5 of wis/ps
wiz gets 1/5 of int/ws

hmmm, i am not sure if i like this suggestion. i think it is sumthing that could be looked at by the GM's and maybe tweaked. but i think there is all ready enough changes in the game to make a new exoerience in this server.

i also believe it would seriously disrupt the balance btween the charecters and really make a differnece between charecters of different lvls, in essence sum of the skill would go out of the game. not to mention that priests would basically be indestructable :o

in closing i think there is enough for the GM's to do allready and this is usmhting may be to be looked at and tweaked in the future as it has the potential to add an interesting twist to the game, but right now i am voting no for this change
