Do you think this is a good idea?

Yes, I like the idea of giving flags some power. It would make for some interesting game play, as well as make wars more amuzing.

No, this idea is retarded. Why give flags power, when nobody uses them? It would be a waste of time, when the GM's can focus on making me Z pots, and anti-curse pots.

BEFORE YOU VOTE!

Ok. GM's please pay attention to this one. I dont want to make a part 3.

Think about it, to have one member of your party, riding around with your nations flag, rallying the troops around him to out perform the enemies infront of them, weather it be monster, or player.

Firstly' I'd like to suggest (in the interests of making it as simple as possable.) that the flag's main skill, be tyed into a classes main skill. If this aspect can be done sooner, rather then later, i'd appreate it.

Priests/Wizards - As the use of staves increases, so does a flags.

Theives/Archers - Do they really care? Regardless, just just tie it to their hurling/archery skills.

Warriors would be the trickiest, do to their multi-talented weapon usage.

Second, that each National Flag be given bonuses. I suggested the following:

*Movment speed increases.
-This would effect all members in the flag bearers party, including the flag bearer.
*AC bonus
- This effect would only effect members of the flag beareres party, and not the flag bearer him/her self.
*CP Regen bonus
- This bonus would effect every member of the flag bearers nation. It would be somewhere around +1, every 10 seconds.

*All effects would have a certain range limitation. Probally within a couple of screens of the flag bearer. Only the 3'rd bonus (CP Regen) would be a stackable bonus, meaning that multible flags, faster rate of regen.

I'm open to idea's concerning bonuses.

i think archers and thiefs shouldnt get any bonuses... maybe AC but then they wouldnt be able to attack.. warriors could use flag as polearm/pick weapons and wiz/priests as staffs

i just dont know one thing: how hard it is to get a flag? if it is too easy then the bonus shouldnt be too good or else everyone will start to carry a flag.. if it is hard enough then it should be a really good choice

Ok, i'll start with the difficulty of aquiring a flag.

Flag's can only be bought through the RE mall. I hope that doesn't change. If the price of the flag goes up a little, I wont mind.

Why shouldn't they get any bonuses? Granted they already move like their on speed, but that doesn't mean they should feel the effects. As for the AC bonus, anyone who's in the flag bearers party, is allowed to feel the AC bonus, regardless of class.

Why shouldn't they benefit from the CP Regen bonus? (They meaning Theives/Archers)

They rely heavly on CP usage. If its your nations flag near you, then should feel empowered to push harder...

ok.. then they should have a good bonus to be worth it if they can only be brough by RE =P and what i said about archers and thiefs was getting bonus cause they equiped the flag.. they shouldnt be able to attack since they are ranged but getting passive bonus cause they are near a flag then it is a good thing

Well, they'd be able to attack, but it would be next to pointless. They are fast-paced, ranged attackers, that dont really need to be on a mount. I was thinking priests or Wizards would be more suitable flag bearers

1. Yes they are pushing buttons.
2. Give me credit for my ideas(and others :P)
3. It would give a better use for priest in war, as then you will need atleast 1 priest near each stone.
On a wizard it is good too but wizards need their weapon slot for a rare dagger/blackjack and shield.
4. This suggestion is just full of epic win.
5. Flag shouldnt cost TOO much because its not an uber item, just a support item for ur fellow nation in war. Having a mantle of dragon on an archer in war is alot more effective ;)

noone gonna drop his rare weapon for this except those who dont hv a rare weapon at that time (bow, knifes and melee weapons (for warriors) are proly the only ones that arent rare all the times

and i dont think it should add all bonusses at once, an already defensively strong priest shouldnt get more ac for example ...

omg you dont get the point tensu, the bonuses are AURA effects, meaning they provide benefits to everyone in range of the AoE of the aura. I don't know if that can be coded in DR though.
So having 1 flag carrier would be a tactical advantage and a nice morale booster for the stone destroyers.

Anything can be coded but your asking for alot of work and complete change in game play. All this for a flag.. if your giong to go through all that work why not do it for some class that could use aura's.
