As for wiping;

Not going to happen.

Why? Misterd has pretty much said it all. I've worked with dr since late 2005 and have seen 3 wipes being done, all resulting in the same situation that we're in now. Wiping is surely not the solution.

Garlik your suggestion is not a proper way to solve the problem. If the whole GM team is not well organized this situation will happen again, no matter how many times they wipe or open a new realm.
I won't have time for the 2nd realm but I believe there will be many players play AND will quit again just like they quit from the 1st due to lack of game update/surpport, the left players will be much less than the first one, simply because it is harder to catch the D3/D4 with a much more lower rated realm for the new players compare to the existing one.

That is only a slower path to the current situation; not a solution.

I'm going to give my two cents. The GM team is the cause of needing wipes. Managing a MMORPG isn't just something you do half ass. The lack of involvement from the GM team is what kills the server by the lack of entertainment that keeps the players around. You went on holiday and nothing was communicated to the community about it until after the fact. Those little but easy things can prevent players from getting discouraged and quit because GM team is MIA. The lack of motivation to fix problems for players is what discourages players to stick around.

Players here are dual 4, max tactics, max rares. They need something more to keep them around. Dual 5 was promised awhile ago. Quest chains were promised awhile ago. Along with more content that was promised but never implemented.

When a server wipes, players have things to do. When the server doesn't wipe, everyone is maxed out and bored, nothing to do. Doesn't take a lot of common sense to understand this concept.

That's my two cents, and it's as simple as that.

I totaly agree with you!
I'v been playing and working with DR since long ago too, and I'v seen a hundred of wipes being done, all resulting in the same situation that we're in now. But not doing anything is also not going to solve this situation.

So, if I have to choose between wiping or keeping it the way it is now, I would chose wipe i guess
