Bounty system changes

Postby Montana » Wed Nov 11, 2009 10:29 pm

Edit: Seems like people have a too narrow mind and can't focuse on anything but losing TT or XP, even though it's just a very small part of the idea, and really doesn't need to be in this sugestion
So this part was removed.

As previously posted:

My sugestion:

- Person X can place a bounty on person A.
- Person B can read the bounty announcements and choose to hunt person A.
- To actually be able to hunt, person B must make a deposit of 1/3 of the bounty value.
- Person A gets a message saying person B is hunting him.
- From that moment on it's marked server side that person B is hunting person A.

- Whenever they meet, they fight. Anywhere, friends can help, but last shot must come from one of them to count. (?)
- If person B kills person A, he gets the bounty value + the deposit he made.
- If person A kills person B, person A gets the value of the deposit (wich came from person B's pocket). Also, person X gets the bounty value back.

Details:
- Bountyes can be CRITS or RE's (or whatever you name it here). If bounty is CRIT, deposit is CRIT, same goes for RE's.
- Maybe the thing of friends helping can suck. Maybe it could be made only in 1x1 arena fights. IDK about that. Wouldn't be very dinamic.

RANKING SYSTEM:

To avoid this situation: someone posts a 1000RE reward on me, then DA picks the bounty and whispers me "wanna split 1kRE?", then i let him kill me and we split.

So, there should be a ranking accessable INGAME and INWEBSITE that shows how many bountyes someone picked, how many succes and how many fails, and a ratio.
Also, how many times someone put a bounty on you, how many times you were killed and how many times you killed the other guy.

that`s suposed to make people think a lot before taking a hunt and not just randomly go and pick all bountyes just wishing to find someone AFK.

think a bit about it, it`s not that bad if you REALLy take the hunt seriouslly.

Looking at the way rewards are handled, if a person loses tt/exp when he fails, he should get tt/exp when he succeeds.

then it`d be exploited non stop.

also to stop another type of exploiting there should be some kind of ranking/honor system, that i`ll post later.
too lazy now.

Nice idea for bounty but honestly I don't like the idea of losing exp and tt either. You're taking a job some1 else posted, if anything the poster should be the one to lose something not you. There shouldn't be any risk from taking a bounty job besides dying n money =/

I have another idea for bounty to just throw around...just a wild idea that just occured.

What if only Zypern and Vyseus can post bounties? And yllse are mercenaries.

Under the condition that each bounties only last for a few hours (1-3 hours tops) and there is a limited amount of people who can take the job.
The person who has a bounty on their head will be notified, THEN they can post a bodyguard help that Yllseans can accept.

For example, If Im Zypern and I put a bounty on DAs head for 15kk for max 3 people (Split between the people who take the job). DA would then be notified there is a bounty on his head and he will see that the condition is 15kk for a maximum of 3 people. He'll also know who accepted it and as a response he posts a bodyguard help for say 30kk for max 5 people for Yllseans. The bodyguards will know who will be attacking and the attackers will know who the body guards are. If DA is killed in the alotted time 1-3 hours, the attackers will be rewarded, the bodyguard will not. If however, after 1-3 hours, and he is still alive, then the bodyguards will be rewarded, the attackers not.

i liked duran idea but i really dont see it working...
good points:
limited number ppl who can take the jog is great idea.
notification is also good.

bad points:
first this time limit, what happen if the hunted person dont log in for 3 hours.
yllsien mercenaries would be cool, but many player dont know others town maps, would be really hard to find the person if he is online.
bodyguard i think is a good ideia but really hard to work correctly as the hunted ppl have many order ways to defend himself for free like hiding or calling friends.
better way i could imagine to resolve 1 and 2 problem is making bount only acceptable during war time cus its is easier to find other nation ppl at war ^^.
or dont make a time limit and some kind of tracking system, saying in which map is the person u trying to hunt.

about montana ideia, lose tt or xp its really bad, but the money part is fair.
