Game only starts black screen since patch 62

[misterd]

First:
I updated to patch version 62 using the updater. Restarted DR, but got only black screen (no intro picture). I have to use Task Manager to kill DR process.

Second:
I downloaded patch 62 separately and manually copied the files into my DR folder. Try to start DR, and get same problem.

Third:
I uninstalled DR. Reinstalled and then applied only patch 62. Still same problem.

Any ideas?


Edit:
This same problem also occurred on a virtual machine (VMWare), but another identical VM (except machine name) was successfully patched using the updater.exe. Easy to fix the VM by copying the other VM disk, but does not help with the problem above which is running on a normal Windows (Vista 32-bit) machine.

Seems that the game now requires 32-bit color-depth.

Hmmmm, that's weird. It is supposed to support both 16 and 32bit.

if I want to change english to chinese typing, sometimes the screen will stop.....nothing can do for this, have to del DR_progress

For example, default type is English, when I change to Chinese(press ctrl+alt) then screen stop, game screen just locked....
Have to minimum DR(alt+esc) and open windows task (ctrl+alt+del) to delete dr...

I have try both full screen and windows mode, only fullscreen get this problem...
