Buff Rage Light Ball Spell

Priest is the only class without a spell or attack that does good damage against single targets, like dark bear or cyclops, in PvE. Since virtually all monsters above level 100 are immune to Life Drain, Rage Light Ball is the best thing priests have for single target damage. Rage Light Ball however, is slow, cost too much divine, and does too little damage that priest might as well use Charisnumen Authority instead, even against a single monster. This is a big problem because it takes priest forever to hunt for dual quest items such as skin and secret.

I think Rage Light Ball should do 2x as much damage, and cost half as much divine, since right now the spell is laughable. This way Priest can get some Orison tactic at Dark Bear or Cyclops, and also make it a lot easier for priest to hunt things like Secret Document for dual quests and Bear/Cyclops for skin.

No, this wouldn't make Rage Light Ball overpowered. Even with 120 Orison and g3 nature vigor my Rage Light Ball still only does 13500 damage to tactic dummy, but my mage with 100 Magery does 17200 damage per Firebird hit, so twice as much damage would mean Rage Light does about the same, maybe slightly more, than 1 firebird hit. Rage Light Ball would still be too weak and slow to kill anyone in PvP, unless they aren't even Crossing Class yet, but it would be useful enough to hunt dual items and get tactic from dark bear, cyclops, etc.

i dont think this is a bad idea.. im just not sure about how much this spell need to be better to make a difference but i like make some "useless" skills/spells more usefull (Y)

rage ball is only good to make one rage :lol:


a buff or a change wont hurt much the balance among classes, since using rage ball will prevent the use of ld, personali i would like to see rage ball as a chaneling skill:

casting time 1 sec and for each extra second one stay casting, the ball will have a % increase damage with increasing returns(only 1 ball per cast), as an example:

1 sec casting time
2sec---5k dmg
3sec---8k dmg
4sec---12k dmg
5sec---17k dmg
6sec---22k dmg

turn undead could olso have a remake may be make it deal damage equal to monsters current hp, 2-3% for normals 4-6% for undead type ones.

dealing damage based on a % of current monster hp means that a priest can now do something to weak bosses.

but obviously they would nvr allow this for bosses. or else a team of 10 priests would just come and turn undead a monster a few times and then comes and archer and multis it twice, then its down. doesnt sound that fun

i dont have the exact numbers but since the skill is hit for 2-3% of current monster hp, priest damage will drop a lot around 50% of monster hp to a point where archers/thieve should be dealing more damage, 10 priest will kill faster when the boss is full hp but in terms of time 10 archers will probably kill it faster due to their constant damage.

eh imo would make the quests which are easy even easier. for example, we did Abyss Maze the other day, in less than 40 mins, and take note no one had rares at all, and were only d1.

To give you an idea of how useless it is, I have 145 Orison and g5 Nature Vigor (4 from symbol, 1 from gear), and mine only does 17,500 to tactic dummy. For comparison, my Dual 3 Spell hits tactic dummies for 22,000 and can hit multiple times in the same second, yet I almost never can kill anyone in PvP with it (usually does around 3-4 to priests, and 6-8k to archers per hit). Maybe with vigor rares and basic rares I might kill ppl with my dual 3 spell, but with Rage Light Ball I probably run out of divine before I can even kill an AFK person! Rage Light Ball drains my Divine like 5 times faster than my dual 3 spell. If Rage Light Ball were to get buffed then I could kill etins faster for hunting secret, so I can actually get to dual 3 on live. Would also make it easier to hunt for cyclops skin.

if the quest is a piece of cake before skill is implemented then is not the skill fault is the quest that is to easy:lol:, well may only quest monster could be inmune to this skill.
