american football is watched mostly by USA and Canada which makes around 400 million persons
soccer is wolrdwide. If NFl would be worldwide, there would be as many watchers as soccer.

Why isn't Football wordlwide ?
-Because there are many rules and most of people doesn't know quarter of them, then they don't understand a shit of what happens.

Soccer is simple sport compared to football

-I guess a soccer team has attackers and defenders ( left side and right side )
So players can play either on of those two positions.

Football on it's side, has more than 10 different positions with each specific actions to achieve = makes it more complicated, makes it HARDER to play as a team, makes it harder to understand for most of the people, which can bring disinterest.

that might also be a reason why soccer is more watched.

But my opinion is that we can't compare those sports, one is contact sport with high tactics required and the other needs extreme endurance and a godly will.

EDIT : The superbowl is the show the most watched worldwide by the way, ( right in your ass colo ) :scis: ( BUT I ADMIRE YOUR PASSION FOR SOCCER :scis: )

EDIT#2 American and Canadian Football for the win ^^

Soccer don't have just 'attack and defence' lol. There's more than 10 positions too.

*Goalkeeper Protect the goal.
*Defender Prevent attackers to lead goals. Go to attack to try a header in corner kicks.
*Back Defender Prevent attacker to lead goals. Don't go to attack.
*Left Side Attacker/Defender Prevent attacker to lead goals, take the balls to the side and put the ball on the area.
*Right Side Attacker/Defender Prevent attacker to lead goals, take the balls to the side and put the ball on the area.
*Back MidFielder Prevent attackers to lead goals, start the attack with passes and ball possesion
*Half Guard Helps the attack with passes, shots, crossings and dribbling, also helps to take back the ball.
*Offensive MidFielder (Both sides) Most support the attack, lead to goals.
*Winger Attack by sides, unlike Left/Righ Side Attacker/Defender, they play foward.
*Striker Play as an attaker indented taking the ball from midfield to the attack with speed.
*CenterFoward The classic number '9' and scorer of the team, ussualy have the best precision with foot and head.
*Spearhead They attack by sides, bringging the ball to the center of ennemy area.

(For sure i forgot some positions, but the important thing, soccer need lots os strategy, not just the players, but how you'll put them in the field, how many defenders/attackers, if you'll play most by sides or by center etc etc)

SOCCER FTW! :go:
Put your head over my chest, and you won't hear any sound, still, I'm alive.

Worldwide viewership statistics cited in press releases by television networks, FIFA, the NFL and others have been questioned by independent groups and audience figures cited in billions are considered practically unverifiable. FIFA and NFL has admitted that numbers have been massively exaggerated in some cases, and simply guessed in others:
But the fact Soccer is the most viewed, played and got records of assistance in whole world.
As I told you, Soccer is more complex, take the ball with hands and run as a bitch is the easiest, try do it with ur foots. Playing a game where the ball control is mannaged by your legs and ur foots, harder so far.
I do even think Rugby is better than American Soccer, at least they arnt so gay wearing protection like if they where going to ride a motocycle.
You Kevin (MREyez) Canadian prick dont know what hockey mean, ask urself why at olympics they dont play on ice...

Soccer is the most physically demanding, requires the most creativity, agility, overall skill and total athletic ability, more than any other sport by far.
soccer is the most democratic sport on earth. Everyone on the playing field is equal. Everyone gets to touch the ball. Everyone can score, at any given time. Other American sports have a certain hierarchy where certain players are limited to certain tasks that restrict not only their function in the game but their overall playing time. So during the course of an entire game, which may last 3 hours or more, you have some players that may never touch the ball for the entire game. As a matter of fact, they may never touch the ball for a number of games. They may never touch the ball the whole season. This is what has always irked me about certain American sports – there is no equality of functions. Everyone is limited to his specialty task which swallows any creativity and joy of the game and reduces players’ positions to the functions of an automated machine rather than a creative individual playing within the confines of a team unit.
American media always complains about the lack of contact in soccer. If they would actually watch a game, especially a live game, they would see and understand that there are far more injuries, brutal, horrific injuries, and even deaths, in soccer, than any other sport. Soccer players don’t where helmets or pads. They only wear protection on their shins to keep from breaking their legs (which happens quite frequently anyway, even with the guards.). In soccer, you can kick, punch, elbow, trip, head-butt, tackle, push, hold, stomp, the opposing player and often not get called for it. This is just part of the standard flow of the game. Yes, often players overreact to falls or injuries, but this is only to generate a penalty against the opposing team and gain favor toward the win.

Thats why Soccer have more than 3 billion of fans. More people in the world watch soccer by far more than any other sport. To compare it with other sports, NFL has about 400 million fans worldwide.

#1 Paragraph (I haven't even read your reply)
#2 Im from England , Home of football ............. Soccer..

Tell you what, when the premier league introduces benchmarks of fitness to even be able to play and only take players who educated University like the NFL, then I will think otherwise.

P.s most football fouls etc are just over dramatic and milk it..... gamesmanship is about as cool as HIV

NFL or Rugby : Gets crushed by 5 to 10 other guys, stands up and continues the match, like a boss.

Football : Falls on the ground on his own, starts to cry like a Sisi while he has no injuries at all.

nuff said.

Rugby way better than NFL.
And Gaz, Educated little boys from university must go back with their mommy. Real players are those who come from poor places and cant go university, they have real blood for competition.
If you dont read what I wrote shows how polite you are.

Your argument about foot / hands doesn't stand, you can get used to play with foot as much as making precise/far cigars with your hands at football, it's just practice, it doesn't make it more complex in any way -_-

It's just about the sport you choose to love, nothing will change your mind, this is useless to discuss about what sport is more this and more that. It's about what you like and what you been teached to like by your own culture.

Ice hockey is olympic sport in winter olympic which stand every 2 years, in alternance with summer olympic, so winter and summer olympics event every four years, Even thought, Ice hockey is the sport where referees are the worst. they change the course of the game because of it so i lose my interest for this amazing sport, that's why i prefer football now. Referees will never or barely never influence the game end.

I can also say that football is contact sport, where soccer is not, those players, soccer and football have a life and familly and kids and wife, they don't want to lose all this because they get very harm injuries doing their jobs, even if they are overpaid, it's still their job, so that might be why those professional footballers wear alot equipement. On the contrary, Soccer is not a contact sport and you still see stupid players faking injuries so the referees penalize the other team, ehich brings to influence the game by so lame way, please...
