Community input: same class legend bonus

Hi all!

In our legend rework preview posted here (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23913), we discussed modifying an existing skill if a particular dual class wears the same dual class legend set. To give you an example, a Saint wearing the full Saint set would receive an additional bonus that modifies an existing skill, such as Authority of Farencha. We are currently brainstorming ideas and we would like your input. What kind of bonus do you think we should add? An example would be Grand Wizard: Firebird ignores 20% of target's fire resistance. This is only an example and not what we have planned.

Appreciate for the hard work, but to be honest I feel its hard for me to brainstorm this legend set bonus for individual dual.
First the legend rare effect change is already a huge jump, I dont have a clue how will it turn out, so I cant really think into the bonus yet.
Second please try to do it smoothly, the player base is already in a decline and you dont want to see some wtf moments for new players right? Make it a happy meal instead of a fast meal.
There will be a tough time for everyone discovers the new game meta, tons of (unbalance)bugs for sure. Adding this would only leave you harder time to figure it out.

As my opinion, long as the legend set bonu matches the dual, Im fine. For example saint set for spell dmg dealer set, triggermage set really triggers wiz =p

I would agree with SimpleStupid. Making some of these changes are going to cause a ton of unbalance issues until it gets defined. I'm having a hard time justifying making changes to legends, when we could do some smaller changes first to help balance the game a bit more. (IE: Horn of Iceberg aka Pepsi) Also RNG rares are becoming to powerful. (IE: Counter Attack, Strike, Desire, Robber) When the game is starting to get 1 hit to win, there is a problem.

I also don't want to see these changes made half ass without testing.

Make legend set bonuses work in 2 and 4 pieces rather than just the entire 4 , then you can have some intresting sets

Thank you both for your input. We will definitely be testing things out. I also anticipate we will put in the effect changes first before putting in this particular change we want your input on.

And I actually like that suggestion, Cell. We will discuss that and see what we come up with.

realistically, to get a full set of D5 of same class is very hard. the drop rate is low and each class have 5 sets.so basically there are 100 items and they don't drop every time. sometimes even they drop but the individual bonus can be useless too. so adding strong set bonus that can increase one class's unique feature significantly is a good idea. For Archer/thief/warrior dual each other, we can make the primary set bonus to increase one of their skills to lv4 or buff one of the existing skill with some new feature. For Archer/thief/warrior dual priest/wizard, we can make the set bonus to be able to learn a spell that of their choice.

something i always wante to see is atributes playing a bigger role, as of now the majority of them are just for equiping/lerning skills making them useless past certain point

by making legends provide an extra boost to already existing skills based on certain atributes the game can break that and introduce new builds, for instance palading making authority of greatest luck give extra damage based on str for a more offensive warrior and wis increacing self cast SFD protection for a more defensive one.


that being said, gating build divercity behind rare end tier items is not a good idea so there has to be weaker vertions for low/mid tier till they get those legends.

not really that exciting about it... as i feel you will be having a difficult time to balance the classes (since currently there are already some gaps that require attentions...)

One set of legend gives maximum effect of 52G (G8 x 4 + 10G bonus + 10G bonus)
As some classes are already OVERPOWERING... if you decided to change some useless effects to other useful effects... this may cause some unbalancing problem...

For example: Lord Knight
Force Smart Critical Accurate + AC Force = G18 Force, G10 AC, G8 Smart G8 Critical G8 Accurate

if you take out accurate and simply replace it with Desire or Robber
You will have...
Force Smart Critical Desire + AC Force = G18 Force G10 AC G8 Smart G8 critcal G8 Desire (see how op this is, even compare to crafted rares)

I dont think LG set should provide more advantage than crafted rares (Maximum 40G of useful effects)
As players who live outside of NA, they dont have a good ping compare to people in NA, which makes them more difficult to took LG in mazes. The only way for them to compete with people who have nice pings is to spend the time and make rares.

Just speaking for some Asian players who play with 400+ ping all the time
