First of all, greeting . I played this game once many years ago and already forgot things(and I didn't get so far, around level 50 or so).

I remember that there is a Taming ability to learn. And I wonder if this ability is useful in some way? Or it is just there for entertaining?

mostly just entertainment... it's fun having battles between lets say.. a Rat vs a Nekrozen xD (the nekro SHOULD win with ease..)

Taming is mostly for fun indeed. It's quite a blast to gather fellow maniacs to tame a minotaur (or tame it yourself if you have a lot of spare time)
However, people can hurt your tamed pets, so remember to put the weaker ones in safezone if you only want them to disappear after the timeout expires.
