As for why the server is losing so many players?
1. old players quit because of the lag. DR is a game where lag will kill players easily. Even the smallest amount of lag can make the game unplayable. Also, players turn into ghosts and must run back to town/temple to res. There's no easy "revive" button like in many modern mmo's to make lag death less annoying

2. Many of the most important things in DR (dual class maze quests, wars, and sc quest) are areas where if you DC or lose connection, you lose all of your work. DR isn't for the casual gamer that can play 1 - 2 hours a day only. It's also not for those that dc very often. From what I've heard, the GM's service at teleporting people back into quest isn't great. And there's no compensation for DCing in sc or in war. Players also feel as if these DC are not their fault and it's the server's fault.

3. new players are not drawn into the game. The presentation that Mistralis have given is HORRIBLE. When a new player finds the game, the first thing they do is look at the main webpage. There is ONE screenshot on the http://www.dr-int.com webpage and that SS is tiny and no link to a larger version. There a NO gameplay videos. Half of the links on the webpage don't work. The "contact us" button doesn't work. Gameplay explanation is all text-based so new payers most likely won't read it and if they do, it doesn't give them an idea of how the game works. Why would anyone download the game when half of the website doesn't work and there's no indication of how the game is? Face it, most of the payers who first find a game and also most of the players that play a game DON'T check the forums.

4. learning curve. DR's learning curve is huge. There's really no good tutorial or way to learn the game's mechanics. For those new players that do try DR by chance, the steep learning curse usually turns them off.

5. crappy community. Most people in DR are assholes. I'll be blunt about it. The DR community as a whole give out a horrible hateful vibe. People are racist, selfish, and/or just plain egoistical. Most people act as if they're the most important person in the world and the best DR player of all time. DR players are generally not friendly to new players. We steal from our "friends" and flame our enemies. We're rude to one another and most of the time just plain down nasty. The forum is filled with flame wars that bury any useful information a new player would want. (and yes, I did say "we" and include myself in this generalization)

6. balance of power. DR is a game of "nations warring" but the balance of power in DR is so very important. The stronger nation/players are able to stop the progress of the weaker nations. Of course, this is true for most MMO's but the thing about DR is that the community is so small. In other MMO's there's usually multiple servers for the game where a different nation/faction dominates each server. In DR, either you're always on the losing side or you join the stronger side. If you're on the losing side, you're frustrated that you can never advance. If you're on the winning side, you advance but soon it gets boring because those on the losing sides all quit and there's no one to pk.

7. lack of professionalism. GMs that argue with players and get into flame wars with players. Lack of a "contact us" with information about the server the Mistralis. That doesn't make me want to trust a company with my money.

I don't know how you can claim in your 5th point that MOST people are like that. Sure for example I myself am egotistical at times ( which is proven by my next saying ), but I am never racist/selfish/stealing/flamer( well perhaps rarely and when they REALLY deserve it ).
And most ppl I've met here in yllse aren't the crappy bastards you describe in your posts. But when I was in Vyseus on NR, your description could have fit perfectly, it's just different for each nation I guess.
Perhaps on past servers Yllse was different but on last int and this server in my honest opinion Yllse hasn't had many bastards, helps it's newbies ( ofcourse when there's spare time ) and has a friendly community overall. So on that point, I think Yllse doesn't need to change themselves, but I don't know what's going on in the other 2 nations.

As for point 4 I once did which I thought of as impossible... I summed up a mini gameplay guide which contained a huge amount of information in about only 2 forum pages. But it was on a private server in another game and when it went down.. I hadn't saved my work anywhere so it's lost and I can't be bothered to write it again T_T but I'm sure someone else could write an even better one though. So this is definitely doable in terms of a guide. But yea the learning curve is still huge I agree.

You make some valid points and I agree with most of them, but this is just bringing out the problems, now we need some idea flashes to start fixing them one by one.

The last couple of days all I do is log on and make rares then log off. To me the greatest element I was looking forward to was adding quests for tactics and leveling experience. Also adding archer and warrior damage. All three was never done.

To me the most boring part of the game is to sit at your pc and shoot the same exact mob an insane amount of hours to be competitive. That's what always turned me off on every server I play. I get excited then get to cc and am like, this is boring as hell why would I want to do this for a month straight when I am bored of doing it for just two hours.

Play for a small period of time only each day and spend your time wisely ( unlike me )
You will both be able to do your rares, some leveling and even PK some. But you need to cut chatting and town centre time to a minimum.

Some stuff that piss me off lately:

I am tanking DB since the level 54. It's pissing off to die sometime due to 5 hit of ice and see everyone except you have ice files deleted. I mean, EVERYONE still do it. it was supose to be illegal.

Lign leveling was supose to be taken out. Everyone still lign level, never been fixed.

We also need ASAP some town balancing system for WARS and dungeon. ATM it's just pointless to be a vysus and everyone quit little by little.

At least HALF of the hack/harresment reports was adressed to Yllse, including a few that state how players can't butcher and/or lvl in certain mobs without being pked, how can you say that yllse doesnt need to change themselfs?

With all do respect proacker, DB is a lvl 105 monster, if you've been tanking it since lvl 54 that was your choice. If you didn't die to It I would be pretty pissed off since it would show a very buggy and unbalenced feature of the game. And yes, I saw a few people in the recent past that had deleted those files, but I haven't seen anyone nowadays though.

I die around twice or 3 time a day. Even when dieing, my xp is ALOT better then any other place. The fact i was saying is: If me, level 54, tank it with all files and survive, why are CC-D1 not having ice files? It is first unfair, and bs.
