videos can come in handy from time to time but nothing can compare to personal dr related info. it's quit sad to see that when there's a new player in town and he asks where he should lvl that there's ppl saying "go to db in wg".it's f*** up. with such a community new blood will never stay.

i really like proackers mentor idea and we are planning to execute something like this, maybe give the new player option to reward the mentor with exp pill or 2 after a while

I suggested something similar before but it was related to a new player joining and choosing the tutorial area.

if most of the new players find Dr through xfire, then why does the xfire logs of gametime keep going down? I assume if they find DR through xfire, they use xfire.

With all due respect, Nyx, I agree with what you said about newbies quitting the game because they don't understand the game but part of that is not the fault of the players. GMs don't give newbies enough information about the game. Most games you can get most of the information from the main website. On DRG, half the links don't even work. Quite frankly, I'm not even going to consider coming back until there's more working links than broken ones on dr-int.com or you make "fan/guide links" to my website or another source of game-play information. I don't have time to walk new players through the beginning stages like I used to and it frustrates me to see new players frustrated then quit. I've always been a big fan of bringing new blood to the community but thus far, not many changes have been made to cater to new players. I don't think asking for a working website is too unreasonable a demand. That is your presentation, that is what draws in new players. It boggles my mind that the GM team sees so little in your professional presentation and DR's presentation. Too many people "judge a book by it's cover".

I never said the most, I just said it's a great source of players ( could be for DR aswell ). But we lack xfire ingame support, there are not many videos/screenshots, the game rank isn't that high etc..

actually if i compare website info page requests to players asking questions ingame, latter would win hands down. Most people dont want to ruin their experience by looking at tip pages online except hardcore players. But i guess that would help in sense that when the community tells them: wtf bbq kthx bye, they could actually go somewhere. but this is where the new Help pages come in

why externalize the info if it can be internal and easily accessible with hotlinks and nice pictures etc

What LP is saying is, either put them on website (best solution) or like her website if you are too lazy to make your own information.

TL; DR, but +1 (Y)

Anyway besides the new help, as proacker and I mentioned, a mentor system would be great and GMs already commented on it, but I'm curious how your are planning to implement it.

here is some examples from our new coder who did the system, good work buddy (Y)
this is only a place holder stuff but explains pretty good how robust it is, there are links and images :) currently customer support is writing up and taking pictures for these help pages. we might turn them into web pages as well to make them look more appealing as well
