GMSignBreaker wrote:Yes it was worth putting all that time into. Matter of fact is, you don't know the internal dynamics of the team. From your point of view it seems pretty useless, but we deemed it to be useful later down the road when we start advertising. People always forget what it feels like to be a new player, seeing new things in the game. You are looking at the achievement system from a point of view of someone who knows the game. All I'm going to say is you're doing a disservice to this thread if you keep on nitpicking on the achievement system. Why are we getting criticized for DOING work?

2-3 wizards are not the whole wizard population I'm sorry to break it to you. And anyone who says wizards can't do anything at high levels are smoking something. And the community is not decreasing. GMNyx already indicated that the server population is going strong. I for one am seeing new players despite the lack of advertisement. The previous thread was locked and I am keeping this thread open and actively participating in it. How much more are you going to nitpick on things that don't need to be nitpicked on? Like I said, you're really doing a disservice to the thread if you keep on bringing up irrelevant points. The thread got closed because it was getting out of hand. I'm not going to second guess the other GMs who decided it was in the best interest to close the thread.

I am eager to hear from you, as you seem to genuinely care. But there's no point in going tit for tat with me on things that don't need to be debated on. I thank you for your input and I would love to hear from you again (just something more substantial please >.>)

Achievement System:
Why not tell right away, that the achievement system is meant for new players, for them go work on an achievement after another, to have "little" goals to work for?
Ppl were/are wondering what the Acheivement System was for. You guys only implemented it, there was no more explanation. Why does it take so much discussion, to finally figure out what the achievement system is meant for, this should already be mentioned in the same post, which u use to publish an update.
Now that you gave a reasoning, I can see why it might attract new players. Thanks.

I didnt see my posts regarding Achievement System as critic, but rather suggestion to spend ur precious time on updates / implementations that would have more affect on the DR community (now knowing, why you guys implemented it).

I said I have spoken myself to 2,3 wizards, who stopped playing wiz and started a thief. This does not mean, that those 2,3 wizzies are the only one who made new chars and started levelling them.

I am still a "new" player, I dont have much knowledge on high-lvl content. I can only tell from what I have heard and the few experiences I made so far, that is that wizards cant blast boss monsters (been told, experienced myself) and can not effectively blast high lvl mobs either (been told, experienced myself during GM monster summon events). Obviously, I am a wizard myself, so seeing progress on that matter would suit me.

The reason why I keep mentioning the locking of a Thread, is cuz I think it was a massive mistake to lock a Thread like that, especially during maintenance(in fact, justifying the locked Thread, cuz of maintenance ... '-_- ).
I am gonna stop mentioning it now, I just hope you see that discussions like that should be promoted and not stopped.

GMs said you are working on Website.
So, what is the state of affairs? I think this has top priority as the current website is not very attractive nor informative for new players, hence my suggestion of posting ingame videos (me beeing a new player, seeing a video of war would get me hooked immediately) and implementing a system, that will allow players to post screenshots and community to vote their favourite ones, which then would be visible on homepage.

Reward System:
I know this can be easily abused, but some kind of reward system for players that get new players to join the game.
To decrease abuse possibility:
New player gets "recruited" by old player. When registrating account, there is a box to write name of recruiting player.
Now, when new player reaches certain lvls (or maybe even better, connect this with achievement system) the recruiting player gets some kind of reward.

SignBreaker said you guys have something planned (unfortunately you guys say that VERY often without giving detailed information to community) for balancing nations. I am looking forward to it and hope it will solve the current problem of unbalanced nations.

I have to agree with GMSB on this one. They are showing progress and being questioned on it.

On topic:

What we going to do about the balancing of nations? I think that should be one of the main priorities right now.

+1 ! This is totaly true! DR is not easy game soo a good web site is a begin to atractive new players!

Another question... a lot of nerds look for "mmorpg" or "best rpg game" in google to start to play something soo make the dr-int appear when someone look for one mmorpg in google.

I found DR some years ago using google. heheheh, but im not nerd.

Take a GM to make your marketing soon we will get results.

Last sugestion... try to take gms with diferents GMTS soo when one gm are sleeping another is on :D
