Follow the rules and you won't receive any warnings. If you are counting your warnings, then there is a problem. As stated in the forum rules, we reserve the right to act if a user's actions are counterproductive to the forum community.

Questionable actions and content
Contrary to popular beliefs, the CoC isn't designed to cover everything. We reserve the right to act if a user's actions, including the user's posts, is deemed counterproductive to the forum community. The CoC is also prone to error. If you find any error in the CoC, please contact the adminisrator.

Stay on topic, and be constructive in your posts. If every player here wants to make the game/community better, then act like it. Simple as that. By engaging in flame wars or off-topic discussions, you are making it worse. If you don't care about the game/community, then its pretty simple to leave.

I agree with the thread starter here.

Much as I love this game, I simply cannot find any reason to spend 18 hours a day just to stay competitive.

Many of us actually have to work to earn a living. Recreation time is DR, and frankly speaking, if the system remains so shitty for new players you guys should consider shutting the server down.

We have seen this in every single server after .MY

1. Server Opens
2. Server gains sizable amount of players.
3. Server accumulates enough $$$$ to be hosted for years and years. What does this mean? Means that GMs no longer have to be bothered with bringing in new blood cause they already have sufficient $$$ for long term.
4. Players start to leave, NO new players coming in.
5. Server becomes a server for just a small group of fat players who can afford to stay at home and play and make rares all day long and gain max tt.
6. Server closes after +- a year.

LOOK, there is nothing wrong with being a hardcore player. BUT we must understand the current state of the server.

Is it newbie friendly? Countless times I've tried to bring in new friends, promising them that this is the BEST MMORPG, even better than WoW. (only to be laughed at)

NONE of them stayed. It is impossible to attract new players or even OLD players when lower level leveling is extremely boring and monotonous, not to mention a complete waste of effort. It takes ages for a single newbie to get from 1-35.. for example. Most people will leave the moment they get out of newbie zone (sorry i think most will leave the moment they enter newbie zone...).

I suggest we adopt a system similar to wow, in which both casual and hardcore players are able to compete fairly.

And maybe, make it easier for lower levels to get to 100? We all know that the game is bullshit until we get CC. The question is, how many new players would spend the time grinding when old players have it much easier cause we have friends and parties and we can easily level cause we started when the server started..

Let's take WoW for example, you start a new character at level 60. (Correct me if I'm wrong.. at least it was 60 I last checked). Players actually get benefits for taking time off from the game.

How about setting the exp levels to something like 10x to level 80? again, this is just an example i don't give a shit if some of you elitist shits don't agree with me. Existing players stand to lose nothing by making things easier for newbies. SO why not?

This game can only be played after 100 anyway.

If wow, the biggest online game today with the biggest amount of players would still cater to newbies and casual players, I don't see why DR refuses to move along with times.

MOST of us donated to this server, because we love the game, because we find a need to support the server (even though mall prices are ridiculously high..Not to mention exp pills are necessary to actually level)

MAYBE the GMs can do something for us in return, so that we can actually be proud to invite our friends in?

It's been awhile since a GM replied but I just want to assure you guys that we are reading this topic and discussing it. Our past priorities was to simply improve the game for the current players, right now in the future we would like to adjust that to new players. Fact of the matter is that DR is a old game and it'll be difficult to modernize it with our current content.

One thing we are working on is GREATLY improving the help menu. It will be much more easily accessible where there will be a menu as soon as you open it and you can click on various topic for information. Another thing we discussed is lowering the level requirements for combat skills such as multis. We feel beginners spend too long without a skill and hopefully this will help ease them into it. These two of the short-term plans in progress.

Quests are currently still in progress because as you may know, DR has only a handful of monsters which is hard to work with. We'd like to develop something more involving such as bosses and etc.

About raising EXP for lower levels, this came up in our discussion as well but we felt this was a double edged sword and its effects are good short term but bad long term.

After we make it as newb friendly as possible we will begin advertisements for DragonRaja.

Please continue the discussion, all your ideas are valuable.

Thanks,

GMTempest

I'm sorry to see you quit. But may I ask why you think we are hopeless and what you think we need to improve on?

I can see that our site (Being worked on) and support (Actually got improved) is far from satisfactory. But if there's anything else you want us to improve please let us know (Y)

While I understand the frustrations here, let's be straight with the facts. DR as it is now is different from the past servers. I urge everyone here who thinks DR is still the same to go through past change logs and post here with a straight face that DR has not changed for better. The best thing is we are continuously working on improving the game and like GMTempest said, we are actually planning on making the game more newbie friendly than ever before. We will listen to the players, but please give credit where it is due, especially considering the hard work our coders are putting in to this game.

I'm lvl110 IGN Anonymous.

At the beginning when the server go live. I thought "this is it". but never thought the population will fall apart in just 1 and 1/2 month. I truly see high expectations and potential on this server. but with that, disappointment will hit you hard.

I'll come back and check if you finish doing improvements on your host.
expect a full employed GM/RC aswell for our newblood.

@GMSignBreaker: you expect a massive pk mmorpg to be newbie friendly?
