Your solution to your solution is going to be harder than what the original solution should of been.
What the original solution should of been:
Take server offline.
Fix bug.
Check who used bug.
Ban the accounts who used bug(7 days).
Bring server back online. (with no lose to honest players)
Start search for all items gained through bug to "honest players" and remove those.
Go through all accounts and deal the punishment of removing items/fame(for 3 years) ect.ect.ect.
What your solution was:
Ignore server
let one of the bug abusers reported bug
kick server till it crashed.
Make out ban list.
ban players.
punish everyone with rollback.
extend the original ban
put the ban list in alphabetical order
add more things to be taken away from the bug abusers
promise all those others who use other bugs/hacks/exploits more stuff
fix bug(badly)
tested poorly patched *code?*
brought server back online
Banned more peoples accounts.
pulls hair.
tears up.
now stuck on how to make everyone happy cause you relize your impulse control issues
have lead you down the wrong road into making another DR server less populated.
Then you probaly forgot you have 1k tickets to answer.
pulls hair some more
That your customers have had other issues that have needed your attention neglected.
How is this "BUG" any worse than a sprite "HACK" that people used for long periods of time to gain
items which they sold for lots of RE's?
One ledgend sells for more then most these bug abusers gained But the punishment is 10 times as great.
