Updater wont work

it says that my updater is not working, as in there is a problem with the file. it tells me to re install it, i have done that and put in different places, anything i can think of. and still wont work.
any one help?

ok, well i fixed my first problem, now im faced with another one.
i have ran the updater, tells me its upto date, nothing to update. i run game. and then tells me its not up to date.
