Farming question

The skill Reclaim. What does it actually do for farming?

I know when you plant seeds, the ground resource meter gets used up with each seed planted. Does the skill really have a needed use?

Does an unreclaimed farm area give less crops than one that is reclaimed?
Does an unreclaimed farm grow slower?

By habit I always plant 6 seeds to a square, reclaim it 100%, and wait for the next growing stage before doing the process over in another area.

i found out that if the reclaim bar is empty, the plants dont even give any fruits even after trying to chop them for 5 mins :/

reclaim is like tilling the land. You can grow crops in dead land... but it may not bear any fruit. Reclaiming is like tilling and fertilizing it. That said, if you DON'T reclaim the land and it's at 0%, there's a high possibility you won't be able to use the harvest skill on that crop even at full grown. The number of fruit you get per crop is dependent on your farming level + the level of reclaim on the land. To get the most crops, reclaim to 100% AND reclaim the surrounding patches to 100%.

Summary:
0% reclaim = no fruits
100% reclaim = most fruits
