DR Smart phone app?

So there I was, sat on the toilet using my phone to play Connect 4 against some guy half way across the world and wondered if a free Smart phone app for DR would make sense. It's not something I could do myself, but I think the idea of a DR related phone app would certainly generate new players. And give me a welcome change from Connect 4.

Phone apps are another form of viral these days and an easy way to spread the word. All the cool kids are into it.

In order to keep people hooked there would be in-game rewards for using the app, and if the app should be appealing enough in its own right to be played. By obtaining these rewards players would feel like they are progressing in game when they can't physically be sat at their computer. The rewards would not be game breaking, but useful none the less. Examples could include raw materials for crafting, random items like CS books or signets. I'm sure there are plenty of other good ideas.

Or maybe go down the route of hooking up with a social networking site like some other online games. If FriendA sees FriendB is playing DR on their Facebook update, and then follows the links, likes it and links it himself, the good word travels even further and faster amongst like minded people.

These are just the seeds of ideas really, and just my two cents. Apologies if either has been suggested already. I didn't search first, I admit.

And I won the game of Connect 4 too.

Happy hunting.

I was looking at a similar concept in my spare time, basing a tower defence game on DR for example, built in HTML5 so most phones can support it without having to deal with publishing contracts and so on ;). Not something I am actively working on myself tho, just something in my free hours every now and then.

iPhones don't support it, and it is one of the commonly used smartphones.
