Not realy, it was removed because it was easily macroed and annoyed players who wanted to use the arena. We have recently spoken of making the arena better and improving it's use and importance, possibly with montly titles and whatnot. We have a few other updates that have a higher prioprity.

Ideas on how to improve the arena are welcome.

Why wasn't line leveling removed then?

Use WoW for example .. anything is better than what arena is now.

I have no idea tbh, from what I read before I rejoined the GM team there were plans for removing line leveling as well, but I cannot give any reason why it hasn't been (yet).

'Welfare epix' incoming?

Might be cool to just reset ladder each month and hand out a price to top 3 (Gx item, mount, skins, cape, ...).
But in order for getting that to work there has to be a system involving winning/losing rating and perhaps rating decay since with the current system it's only a matter of spending as much time as possible to farm ladder (*cough* WoW's vanilla GM/HW ranking system). Basically resulting in a lot of coding/testing.
