Exp system reviewed?

I would like a sort of system like WoW. I think the entire system need to be reviewed IMO. ATM, soloing is very boring and pointless. Some class can solo fine while other do it very poorly. I want to review the entire leveling/exp system.

I think a system like WoW to help people that doesn't play often is the best. When you dc, you get some next % in double exp. Longer time you haven't leveled, the more double exp you get. With some exp pills, might motivate a few person. Also, review solo exp.

I agree, this should be the first thing that is looked at.

We shouldn't compare WoW to DR really, considering how different they are, but you can't ignore the fact that DR has lost the majority of its playerbase due to the fact that they are sick of re-leveling their character for every new server/reset they play on.

I know it's a grind game at heart, but it wouldn't hurt to maybe make it...less of a grind game?

IMO for levels 1-00 imlpement a quest NPC for every mob in-game, where you get a nice exp bonus if you kill a certain # of that monster.

Not only would this massively reduce the grind associated with leveling, it would encourage exploration in order to find every mob in-game.

I like the idea of an exp bonus after a certain amount of monsters killed. My archer had a monster count of 34000 by the time she was level 100 '-_-

That doesn't solve the grind problem unless you make this quest group oriented instead of lb oriented (how DR counts a "kill"). Archers and thief (those who can solo) will be able to do this so easily. Warriors and priests will still struggle with this task. Doesn't solve anything. It's like rewarding blasters even more for blasting as if the exp they get from blasting isn't enough.

Unless you make this 3 different versions of the quest. EX: thief+archer: kill 100 slimes. warriors and priest: kill 50 slimes. Wizards kill 75 slimes.

I started playing DR when I was 13 or 14. I'm not 14 years old anymore. I'm also not the only person in this situation. Most people have jobs, harder classes, or families now that they didn't have 6 years ago when we were fine with grinding 18 hours a day, everyday, all summer long. The 14 year old kids of this generation? No way in hell DR would be their first pick as a game. It doesn't have cool graphics, good advertising, or anything that makes a kid go "oooo shiny, I wanna play!". DR is more for the older generation of gamers that fell in love with 2D, diablo-like graphics and controls. The majority of the older generation don't live in their parent's basement and sits around all day. Those that do, well they don't have a gaming budget and don't support the server money-wise. If you keep DR in a way that it only caters to these players, you will lose the majority of your donating players because no matter how much we pay, we still can't keep up without putting time into the game (or sharing accounts).

I don't know about you but I've been able to solo well with every class I tried, especially warrior now with the boom buff. But that's only up the point of level 100. Anyway past that the monster kills get alot slower depending on where you level, but you are right maybe the kill count system would suck, but then making the numbers different for each class wouldn't fix much either.

Maybe it should be based on damage? and make the damage counter a lil different for each class ( thief/wizard/archer need the same, warrior needs a bit less and priest needs again a bit less )
