Well Thomas, two things are wrong in what you said.

1st Only warriors can use the D1+ Shields, for all other class the best shield is the DS Shield.
2nd Dying in an ennemy map is 10 WP Loss and not 50.

Appart from that it's true that archers die easy but in my opinion it should stay like that. Archers should deal big damages but should be easy to kill.

So you mean archer should just suck until d4/ 200tt? Thief has all the defencive advantages and 200 tt hits even more when using distance rares or allmost same damage when using force.

I think it is impossible for g20 tt200 archer to 1ex kill even a d2 warrior who has ac/ca set and lightning shield skill (not a fencer)... in the other hand it is quite easy for warrior to double slash archer to death, especially when archer needs to be close to ex and counter attack effect that basically brings hp to 1.

Edit: I know warrior can use d1 shield, i meant when all classes at dual 1 usually put max con, then wizard can use +24ac shield and thief/priest +32ac shield.

I give also nice example from a war 2 days ago... when wearing g10 evasion fb usually hit 3/4 of the time 2hits and 1/4 1hit or 3 hit.. Omegasage hits me 27,5k fb when i am wearing ac cape, 2xsc, d1 armor and g10 evasion.. 2hits and i am dead...2hits and im dead if i have 45k hp.

just a thought but may be is not archer what needs to be buffed in particular.

outside fencers 1handed weapons + shields are the way to go for most characters, considering this may be the solution is to nerf shields or buff all 2 handed weapons.

Jill... you forgot one of the most important things. ICE SHIELD. +28-31% defense power that they can combine with their offense skills. Archers can use ice shield too but they can't use fire skills with ice. Wiz/priest can cast defense spells and still use offense spells. Warriors have lightning shield that can be combined with lightning boom/pierce lightning (which kinda sucks but meh).

Archer with pepsi = dead. Too bad you can't pepsi thief, huh?

let's not forget that all classes except archer can debuff but archers can't! :D


+28-31% defense increase (ice shield) > 7AC from not being able to use D3 shield > +30K hp from being a warrior > 10% increase to archers

Stop comparing 1 vs 1 classes.... Compare 5 vs 5 and think outside the box. This is not a 1 vs 1 game.

Then archers is not the class you want to buff... Learn to play and you will be fine.

Most people that bitch just suck ballz at this game.

Seriously though.. We aren't trying to use the thought process of low population. If that's the case, then we should be focusing on other important issues.

Firebird damage to archer(wearing d1 armor,ac cape, criminal cap, 2x starcrest):
No white ac shield/no fire resist bow = 13150
g4fire resist bow (+16fire resist) 11300dam 14,07% decrease 1fire resist 0,88%
24white ac shield 10840 damage 17,57% decrease 1ac = 0,73% resist
19white ac shield 11300 damage 14,07% decrease 1ac = 0,74% resist
11white ac shield 12105 damage 7,95% decrease 1ac = 0,72% resist
32white ac = 32x0,72 = 23.3% spell resist... basically 1/4damage- could be even more...

Firebird damage to priest:
No shield: 8865damage
34 white ac shield: 5975damage = 32,6% decrease 1ac= 0,95%
This means that at d2, thief receives 1/3 less damage from spells... and deals quite same damage...

Physical damage, just DS shield:
Archer hitting 13x tt g20force to typical d2 opponent
with +34ac shield:ˇ8550
without shield:ˇ10250
Decrease:16,6% now add ice shield 30% to this and think if +10% archer damage is compareable
Your 10% is not valid at high lvl shield.

Maybe give white ac to bow? or evasion/endu/smart effect by default and give archer higher smart/eva cap.
