tsleeaa - I never did the quest (after all this is my first time playing DR). I can empathize with crap feeling of getting only an Easter Egg after doing such a difficult sounding quest. But realistically speak, that is part of the reason why i would have paid RL money, so I don't have to go through that stress. But by avoiding the stress of doing the quest... I am using the money I earned in real life which is probably much more stressful, to buy it, where as you can get it free by spending more time and questing or as Minipp said, farm something- earn crits by doing other quests, hunting drops or something along that line and buy it from someone who paid RL money and you get it for free but a little more effort in game.
By selling the item in the Item Mall - in one sense it devalues the item a little but at the same time we do not know the cost of RE so if the item cost a lot of RE, the weapon will retain a lot of its value. (plz don't make it too expensive).
As for the lvl issue, as far as i can see there is only 5 lvl difference between D1 and D2...I may be a little wrong on this because i am just trying to use what i remember reading and what I saw in the item Mall without double checking my info. Anyway in the item mall there is 2 shiny weapons, one at lvl 50 something and the other at lvl 105 (D1). Also according to the forum quest guides you can get shiny weapons at 50 something and above D1. I dunno how hard the quests for the lvl 50 shiny weapon but I assume as u lvl up it gets less effective. anyway the main shiny weapon - the D1 one has a D1 requirement. the game doesn't allow a lvl 20 newbie to just buy and equip one... the item mall one requires u to be atleast D1 before u can equip it. anyone may be able to buy it but it still requires lvling to use it. Now i think i even confused myself
