Transition Screen On Map Change

When ever you change maps, there is a screen transition that takes place. In this time, your character is on the map and can potentially be killed. I suggest either removing the transition, or giving players an option (such as /transition) to get rid of it.

You mean the 'curtain' that opens from the black screen to the world? I've given thoughts on changing the black loading stuff with a fancier image like more recent MMORPG's, but the fade in/ curtain is indeed perhaps not that handy.

Yup, the 'curtain' is exactly what I'm talking about. Thats something I've noticed is i can run around while the curtain is opening, but I can't actually see the screen and other people can see me and potentially kill me. Just an idea

In the past this effect was possible to be disabled?

Why not use some of the many already existing wonderful wallpapers as transition screens. Make it so you see one of many at random whenever you switch maps.
For example I switch to another map, I see this: http://dragonraja.eu/img/wallpapers/03_1024_768.jpg

Then I switch maps again and see this: http://dragonraja.eu/img/artworks/DR_image.jpg

The wallpaper art could be edited, given a dark fade around the edges to fit the load screen theme better, like this:

With the original being this: http://dragonraja.eu/img/wallpapers/15_1024_768.jpg

Keep in mind this is an amateurish example that I made in seconds and someone else will surely do much better.

Thatd be really cool :D but i just dont like having to wait an extra second for the background image to get out of the way so i can see ,y character and start playing. You can, move around while the screen is still black, and people can kill you.

Well you can't be targeted, but you can be damaged. Some people load slow so you have to have some sort of transition screen. I think people should have full invulnerability for a while after map changing, not just non-targetability.

If they have full invulnerability, they had better not be able to cast buffs on themselves/others either.

itd be a little weird at first, but it would take away advantages for people who load maps faster for whatever reason. Not sure what would happen in maze though, it would be a lot harder to run on spawn to not die by multi..
