The arguments here are not serious enough for me to really get into. Sorry, Silencer, I don't consider 'let people choose what they want to do' valid here, because 'what they want to do' is completely unintuitive and an outdated system / style from an outdated game. People are just scared of the change / unknown here, and want a way out in case it's needed. I've said it before, I'll say it again. DR is the only game that people would actually intentionally hold back their level. It's so counter-intuitive.
At this point I don't even personally care if -% is kept in. To me, it's just a completely silly and stupid concept =/ The same goes for a TT cap or not. You guys can stay behind I guess, I'll be leveling. If higher level mobs exp aren't properly increased, I'll just complain and make the GM's fix it, heh.
@Tsukasa: Technically, every single game in the world is 'forcing' people to level, then?
@Atlantis: Lol? Ever since elmy said that, I've been bringing it up every topic? Find proof please, because I'm pretty damn sure I've never even talked about Elmy after he said that. I'll admit it was a surprise to see someone who can actually debate on the merits, but only people like you who have never learned how to debate will be flattered to be acknowledged by someone else who can. I do this on a daily basis so there's no need for me to find an online person to stroke my ego, I get enough debates with my professor, classmates, and my boss and co-interns, thank you very much.
@Elmy: If it's outdated and unintuitive, let them choose to do so. Tell me Elmy, what gets fixed with tactic caps that doesn't get fixed with the fix on better experience and accessibility in pits other than DB/VD1? I for one am not scared of the change at all, as I've indicated that I'll embrace the fix on better pits/accessibility. If anything, I was one of the first ones to really advocate changing the system, perhaps even more drastically than you have suggested. Heck, I've even suggested completely revamping the dual class system and I certainly won't categorize that as being scared of change/uncertainty. And no, actually DR is not the only game to hold back their levels. There are other games (like Aion) where it's beneficial to hold back levels for development.
You guys can stay behind I guess, I'll be leveling.
The same sentiment I have with people who choose to stay behind, but the difference is I'll respect their CHOICE to stay behind rather than force them to level. And technically, not every game is forcing people to level. You're mixing up incentives (better stats, better items, increased ability to fight) with literal enforcement (tactic cap, no -%, etc)(and yes, I realize they're all a form of incentive or another, after all, you still have a choice to stay at 105 and continue grinding without any benefits to your tactics, but you know what I mean). The problem with the OLD OLD system was that you had no choice but to stay at 100-105 if you wanted to get good tactics. That has been fixed, so why fix something that's been fixed already?
@Atlantis: I killed your pony already, give me something better. And if you think level makes a big difference in DR, then you haven't played Aion. The level advantage there is ridiculous. At least in DR, a D4 can somehow be killed by a D1 or D2, but in Aion, even a five level difference will make such a drastic difference that you better run if they have a big level advantage.
