Another option would be to get vmware and create a vm that is running xp and use that to play instead.

We have tested Dragon Raja on Windows 8 and it started without any problems. Make sure you have updated everything including graphic card drivers etc.
If the problem persist, please upload the contents of a dxdiag scan so we can take a closer look at your system configuration. Because I am personally not familiar with windows 8, you'll have to look up how to do so on your OS via Google etc.
