Warrior Guide

guide to warriors like the title says. Just a basic guide to help people get started, nothing with how to pk or anything.

Took out a chunk of information since theyre gna be changed.

[1]Weapons
Pierce
Strength:
-> Highest damage single handed weapon
-> Horn of Iceberg skill (Pepsi) which is a debuff that slows enemies movement and casting speed. GREAT debuff in PK.

Weakness:
-> Requires a lot of extra strength if you want to use double handed weapons as a combo. Grapple requires 0 extra stats however the extra damage is minimal.
-> If you learn Horn of Iceberg (Pepsi) it means you cannot learn double attack.

Comments:
This is a great weapon to go if you're not in love with the other weapon looks and if you don't plan on using 2h weapons. There's no other reason not to use this weapon! The superior damage from pierce alone is not enough to turn a bad player into a good player. But if you're a perfection you can go for this.

Sword & Mace-
Strength:
-> Allows combo with two handed weapons
-> Mace has many sprite looks
-> Sword fire elemental weapon (Good VS mages), Mace lightning elemental weapon (Good VS bloodlightning)

Weakness:
-> If you don't plan on using two-handed weapon, it is weaker than piercing.

Comments:
Near the beginning, mace and sword are even in damage except mace gets a little strong in the end. The damage difference from pierce is inbetween small and medium, so if you like the sprite of these weapons you can go for it. Comboing with 2h-weapons can make you versatile but raising tactics for 2 weapons is quite time consuming.

2H sword & mace-
Strength:
-> High damage
-> 2h Mace lightning based elemental weapon (Good VS blood lightning)

Weakness:
-> Low AC due to lack of shield.

Comments:
Prepare to die. Alot..if you don't have adequate items. The damage might be great but you lose out on a ton of potential AC you get from shields. Even if you get G20 AC, you still miss out on potential 40 AC from shields so it is a killer and at the same time a squishie.

Gauntlet-
Strength:
-> Two handed weapon. Hybrid between attack and defense
-> Requires MUCH less stat use[/list]
-> Allows you to use lightning blow, a improved version of lightning strike
-> Fire based elemental weapon (Good VS Mages)

Weakness:
-> No sprite image except for shiny weapons
-> Damage is not that great and AC is not that great

Comments:
It has no sprite. That's a pretty big weakness and why not alot of people take it. Looking cool is part of the game! Oh and the damage is so-so and AC is so-so, making this a so-so weapon. However, it needs much much less stats which lets you put them into other useful stats like CHA/ENDU/MOVP which is the big selling point of this weapon.

Parrying
Comments:
Parry is important. Pretty much all classes use it except archers and two-handed warriors. The AC bonus it gives is a big big big help. Note that you cannot leech parry at all whatsoever from party members, it is leveled solely based your own attacks. While this may seem scary it actually isn't. All you need is 101 parry to equip every shield in the game and getting to 100 parry is childs play.

[2]Leveling
When leveling the roles of warriors are simply to tank. If possible I highly suggest you find a priest to tag along as high level monsters will hurt like a bitch.
-Under lvl 100, you should level at monsters that are either 9 lvls higher or lower than you. You can find a list of monsters and their levels in the help screen.

[3]Skills
To get skill points for warrior you need a item called CombatSkill Book, CS Book for short. They drop from monsters so you get them while you lvl. The higher lvl you are the more CS books you can use. Generally, every 5 lvls up until lvl 101 allows you to use a another CS book.

There are 6 elements for skills. Earth, Wind, Fire, Poison, Lightning, and Ice.
Each element has a partner, if you learn a skill in an element, you cannot learn from its partner element.
The partners are...
-Earth and Lightning
-Darkness and Fire
-Wind and Ice

A basic run-down of the warrior skills...

Wind Skills
*Double Attack a skill that attacks twice almost instantaneously and is the best damager skill for non fencing weapons. At lvl 3, each attack is 80% of the original damage, that would be 160% damage after both the hits. It has 3 charges, and a hidden charge after you use up the 3 charges that will do 100% of your normal damage two times (Very very useful)
*Gust useful, makes you run faster. Optional to get

Darkness
*Tyberns increases hp which helps out alot in pk and when tanking. Highly recommended unless you are a fencer.
*Poison Nova poisons the enemy to decrease their hp by a % after set intervals. recommended because it is very useful in pk as it eats hp and can even help you kill the person. Especially useful when fighting other warriors.
*Defood it decreases the food gauge of the person you are attacking. Once their food gauge is empty, they cannot attack/use skills or spells and they will move slower.
*Curse slows down anyone you attack. Works the same way as pepsi however..it does not slow down casting time. Recomended if you dont get pepsi
*CP Recharge helps you regain CP faster. Highly recommended you max this unless you are a fencer.

Earth
*Stone Armor allows you to block 20 attacks at lvl 3, note that it does not block magic attacks. Helps alot in the beginning but generally gets useless later on so i dont recommend you get this skill and also if you pick earth element, u cant use lightning element

Lightning
*Pierce gives you a chance to ignore defense buffs on an enemy to do full damage. Also since the new update it now has a stacking AC debuff up to 25AC. It is extremely strong now and quite frankly, overpowered. It has made pepsi builds stronger, giving them a versatile and high DPS attack while having the two strongest debuffs in game (AC debuff and pepsi)
*Lightning Boom a basic AOE attack. Since the buff, it is not pretty good and very viable for leveling.
*Thunder Blow is a grapple only skill that will have 5 charges (I think), each charge giving you a increase in damage. If you choose this skill, learn lightning shield also. If you use it with lightning shield, you'll be hard to kill and be dishing out good damage. However, the damage increase % is only around 2%-4% higher than thunder strike. I would not recommend this or lightning strike, pierce is much more versatile and useful in PK (especially group_.
*Thunder Strike A skill similar to thunder blow and it can be used with any weapon. Like thunder blow, if you learn this skill, learn lightning shield also. Same reason as thunderblow, since lightning pierce buff, I would just not recommend.
*Lightning Shield a defense skill that can be used with other lightning element attacks. It decreases a large % of damage. Very useful when there are no priests around to sfd you.

Ice
*Pepsi/Blue slows movement and casting spell for anyone you hit. Recommended if you go fencing or choose to be a support pike.

Fire
* Fire and Roses If you choose fencing, go for this. It attacks 3 times and because it attacks 3 times it isnt unusual for you to miss once, making the damage alot lower you can prevent this by getting attack success rate rares or by choosing lord knight (hintity hint hint) and get your symbol level to max. This is the most damaging skill a warrior class can get and like double attack, it has a hidden charge that will attack 3 times at 100% damage each (Thats 300% awsomeness damage if you suck at math). Has 2 charges.
* CP Recharge lvl 3. If you're a fencer, you get this. Note that its no difference than the CP recharge in the poison element.

**As for xtreme skills many of them are not viable in PK due to "bugging" or missing on moving people. If you wish, you can get extreme poison lvl 1 to substitute lvl 3 poison nova**
*Note that you will not have enough skill points to learn ALL these skills. Better to just choose your skill build and stick with it. You can however do a quest to unlearn all your skills (Skill points gets refunded)

Definitely get extreme lightning. It has now been buffed to godly overpowered. People don't know how to use it before and hence the buff. Now, if you always knew how to use it, it is potentially the highest DPS and possible burst damage in game.

If you are completely new to the game and dont know anything then read this..
Warrior skills use something called CP. CP is basically mana for warriors. There are no potions for it, to regenerate CP you either wait or use a CP recharge skill. Also the stat point CHA increases the amount of CP you have and it will increase how much it regenerates, though i dont recommend you getting too much of it when you dual class as you are very stat dependent.

[4]Stats
Note that warriors are a class that are very much stats dependant. Until higher levels they do not have much to spare for the non necessity stats.

The stats for warriors are...
Con (Increases HP by intervals of 5, ex. 5,10,15 and also a requirement to use armours/weapons. For PKing builds, con should always be as high as it can)
Str (Very slightly increases dmg and a requirement to use weapons, however do not add it for the slight damage increase)
Movp (Requirement for shoes)
Dex (Slightly increases attack speed and a requiement for PIKES. Do not get it unless you are using pikes)
CHA (Increases max CP and amount of CP regen)
ENDU (Significantly lowers magic damage)

The cap for con is... 600 before CC, 672 at D1, 732 at D2, 792 at D3, 852 at D4, 912 at D5. Note that your hp will only raise by intervals of 5. So do not waste the extra 2 stats at D1+ as it wouldnt do anything.

Armour looks(after noob armours, simply because i dont remember)
Giant Plate Mail - 286 Str / 325 Con
Phoenix - 326 Str/ 375 Con
Shadow Dancer - 406 Str/ 475 Con
Kathelprime Armour (D1, last look) - 474 Str / 560 Con
Helm looks(after noob helms, also because i cant remember)
War Helmet - 286 Str / 325 Con
Battle Helmet(Last look forever) - 366 Str/ 425 Con
Shield Looks(after noob shields, guess why)
Kite Shield - 42 Tactic Level / 200 Con
Mammoth Shield(Ugly) - 59 Tactic Level / 275 Con
Chaos Shield - 70 Tactic Level / 325 Con
Grasia - 88 Tactic Level / 400 Con
Never Pierce(Sexy) - 100 Tactic Level / 475 Con

The last look for each weapon is generally 64. The exceptions are sword which is 60, mace which has many looks before the last look, and gauntlet which has no looks. Also there are shiny weapon looks, which have 2 versions for each weapon. A 58 tactics requirement one, and a D1 requirement one. The 58 shiny weapon damage is the same as any other 58 weapon. The D1 shiny weapon is basically a D3 weapon with D1 requirements. Each shiny weapon adds some elemental resist (D1 adds A LOT) and have a special attack which sucks balls and is practically useless and yes there is a shiny look for grapple which is pretty sexilicious. Dont ask me why theres a look for shiny and not normal.

[5]Job
Choose mining in the character selection. Doesnt matter if you choose to get 99.999 mining or blacksmithing first, both useful. Mining is used to get a special rare combining material known as Sardonyx, sard for short.

A sard is a item used to combine rares. You can get it by mining, lumbering, hunting some boss type monsters, and buying it from other people.

If you've played this game before you'll notice you do not get any job exp while doing mining activities. This is because in order to gain job levels you are required to do quests. These quests comprise of crafting and delivery items. For blacksmith quests, the NPC will ONLY accept self-crafted items. Don't give him something you got from a monster.

TIP: Copper may be hard in the beginning. Find someone who'll give you some, people should keep plenty. Usually there's a sweet spot for copper ores in every mining field try to find it and you can easily get 60 copper ores in 10 minutes. PICK UP CRYSTALS. LOTS OF IT. When you finish quests and have to do dailies to gain job levels, you will be asked for many many crystals from NPCs (Easily 20 a day). For blacksmith, pick up lots of silver for lances.

[6]Rares
Ok the rare system of Dragon Raja is one of the things that makes the game so unique. A rare is basically a item with special bonuses. You can either find rares from monsters or make them yourself by having the proper job, i strongly suggest you make or buy rares yourself as getting good rares purely from monsters is extremely unlikely. Example: Blacksmithing makes warrior items(wep, armor) as well as thief knives, bowmaking makes bows, and so on.

The Rare System
To make a rare, you are required to have 100% rare success chance. You can see this in the item making screen, also note that the 100% is adding both the numbers together at the bottom. Different items have different % bonuses, which increases as you level up your job (Harder items will add less bonus % whereas easier items will add more). Once you have a total of 100% for an item and have the neccesary amount of materials, you click the red box and choose your rares.
Furthermore, rares have a level of bonus. They are known as Grade and a #. G# for short. The higher the grade, the better the bonus will be. To increase the grade you are required to have a GM job, the same job that you used to make your rares in the first place, and combine them. The combining process is.. to increase the level of the rare, you are required to have a certain amount of the same rare AND same item+ a sard.
For example, you want to increase a G1 smart dagger to G2 smart. You will then need, 3 G1 smart daggers with a sard then to increase it to G3, you will need 2 G2 smart daggers+a sard.

Grade upgrade chart
Grade 2 | 3 Grade 1 required | 1 sards total | 3 G1s total
Grade 3 | 2 Grade 2 required | 3 sards total | 6 G1s total
Grade 4 | 2 Grade 3 required | 7 sards total | 12 G1s total
Grade 5 | 3 Grade 4 required | 22 sards total | 36 G1s total
Grade 6 | 2 Grade 5 required | 45 sards total | 72 G1s total
Grade 7 | 2 Grade 6 required | 91 sards total | 144 G1s total
Grade 8 | 3 Grade 7 required | 274 sards total | 432 G1s total
Grade 9 | 2 Grade 8 required | 549 sards total | 864 G1s total
Grade 10 | 3 Grade 9 required |1648 sards total | 2592 G1s total

A run down of rare effects
-Force increases damage. Used for leveling and pking.
-Strike reflects damage by a certain % based on damage done to you. Mostly used for archers/thieves.
-Counter like strike, it reflects damage however the damage is based on a % of the attackers HP. Mostly used for warriors and priests however it is still effective against archers and thieves.
-Smart gives you a % chance to dodge a melee attack. Used for tanking and pking.
-Resist blaze or resist lightning Used to lower fire magic damage or lightning magic damage.
-Desire Steals hp based on your damage. However you can't have full hp for it to work. Used for PK.
-Hard increases your AC. Used for PK don't use for tanking, smart is good enough unless you really need it.

**theres other rares too but these are basic rares that warriors get.**

[7]War
Another unique feature in DR. War is a FFA between the 3 nations (Yllse,Zypern,Vyseus). The main objectives is to break the other races sanctuary stones which are located in various maps in that nation. However, to get to a nations stones you must first break their stones located in Great Grassland (AKA GG). Each nation has a total of 9 stones, 4 of which are located in Great Grassland.

At the top right hand side there is a score system and a WP system. The score system is dependent on the stones, the less stones there are the less points there will be, if a nation reaches 0 points they lose. Each nation begins with 100 points, and lose 10 for each stone destroyed and 20 for the first stone destroyed. The WP system is basically a score system that increases as people in that nation kills an enemy that is their level or higher. In the event that there is a tie, the winner will be decided on which nation has the most WP score (hence, its purpose). You can gain fame/dual fame/ and experience in war. The more people you kill that are around your level, the more fame and experience you get.

Also to participate in a war, you must join it in the war screen. You can also teleport directly to GG or to one of your nation maps by using war screen. There is also a war chat available to people in war, by typing /% *message*. . Lastly, when you join war you get your own war outfit (different depending on your nation), you also cannot attack enemy nations who are not in war or your own nation who are in war, and you can attack enemies who are in war by simply using battle mode.

[8]Snow War
Snow war is basically a normal war....except there's only 2 sides instead of 3 and you have do destroy the stones on the opposing side. BUT there's a catch....only people lvl 60 and under can join. Snow war is a kill or be killed war.

[9]Dungeons
In DR there are 3 dungeon events available. They are Abyss, Undead, and Bigmaze. Each dungeons has mini bosses and a boss and the boss may drop legend items. Legend items are set Dual 1 - Dual 3 items with high effects and a bonus effect if you complete the set. D1 legends are dropped from abyss, D2 from Undead, D3 from bigmaze. Other items such as extreme stone, sards, and leafs can drop in dungeons. There are no level requirements to goto a dungeon however if you do not help you may be killed.

The dungeons are located in:
Abyss: West Glade
Undead: Hegemonia
BigMaze: Hegemonia

[10]Dual Class
Dual class is pretty much where all your hardwork leads up to. It opens a whole new game. Dual 1requirements are lvl 105, extreme stone, and 50,000 Ladder. Best way to get X stone is by doing dungeon quests, aka abyss dungeon (dual 1), undead dungeon (dual 2), and bigmaze (dual 3) dungeon. The requirements for D2+ are doing ladder, quests that involves getting dual fame(acquired from war and dungeon quests) and secrets(by killing ether etins at Great Grassland), and a item that is dropped by the final boss of dungeon quests(Balrog teeth from D1 dungeon quest, Lich eye from D2 dungeon quest, Dragon Scale from d3). Now with that said...lets get on with each dual class.

A symbol is basically a added bonus. The bonus's are rare effects. Each class has their own 2 unique bonus effects. There is a primary affect and a secondary affect, primary affect has a high grade, while the secondary affect has a medium grade. When becoming dual class, you will NOT get your first symbol. All symbol must be aquired from quests. Each symbol can be upgraded 4 times and requires a different item for each upgrade. Each upgrade requires 20 items. The 4 upgrades are known as : G1,G2,G3,and G4. The first upgrade item is different depending on what class you dual to, however anything after the 1st upgrade will be the same for all dual classes.

The first upgrade item will either be Dark Bear(West Glade) or Cyclops(Lethe)
The Item Required for symbol upgrades after 1st is...
2nd: Mana Metal
3rd: Klattu Branch
4th: Tenticle Of Gazar
All of these can be found in VD

Note that Cyclop skins are harder to obtain as the monster is higher level and takes alot longer to kill (it teleports..like a girl, it also has more hp, more etin summons, and it uses flamewave). Keep this in mind as you choose what to dual into, this goes for all classes.

When and each time you become/upgrade dual class, you get to choose what class to dual with. The first class you decide to dual with will decide what symbol you will get. Each class you dual with has its own stat bonuses and also its own unique symbol. But remember that the first dual class you become is what your symbol will become, and it will not be changed even if you dual to another class. The Dual Classes are...
*Note* each dual upgrade will add a total of 100 stats.

Lord Knight (warrior+warrior)
Stats Bonus: STR: +59, CON: +41
Symbol: Primary: Physical AC and Secondary: Attack Success Rate
G1 Symbol item: Dark Bear Skin

A very popular dual class. No stat losses and great symbol.

Paladin (warrior+priest)
Stats Bonus: STR: +5, WIS: +36, CON: +32, PS: +27
Symbol: Primary: Magic Resistance and Secondary: Physical AC
G1 Symbol item: Cyclop Skin

Another popular dual class. Some stat losses (unless you reset) and nice symbol. Good for fighting against wizards. However, note the cyclop skins. A added note is that you MUST choose priest spells when making your character to get this symbol.

BladeSinger (warrior+wizard)
Stats Bonus: STR: +5, CON: +32, INT: +36, WS: +27
Symbol: Primary: Magic Dodging Rate and Secondary: Physical AC
G1 Symbol item: Dark Bear Skin

Another mage killer style symbol. This also wastes stats and has a great symbol. You will need to choose mage spells in character screen. Also note the DB skin.

SwashBuckler (warrior+thief)
Stats Bonus: STR: +5, DEX: +27, CON: +23, MOVP: +45
Symbol: Primary: Travel Speed and Secondary: Physical AC
G1 Symbol item: Dark Bear Skin

Generally not popular. Bad stat bonuses and bad symbol. Really quite useless.

WarMaster (warrior+archer)
Stats Bonus:STR: +05, DEX: +54, CON: +23, MOVP: +18
Symbol: Primary: Travel Speed and Secondary: Physical AC
G1 Symbol item: Cyclop Skin

Another extinct dual class. Like swash...it just sucks...

would make more sense to go LK and get a higher AC symbol and make movp rares (Symbol only gives g4 speed, so 1 rare can make up for it easy) :W: .
