WHICH IS BETTER? G10 or G5 Double Rares?

First I want to state some facts about G5 Double Rares and G10
In order to make G5 Double Rares, you have to be a SGM

Just to clarify, you cannot make Double Rare from two G5 which has the same effect
You can only make Double Rare from 2 items that has a different effect

So basically I am comparing the price of getting

Double Rare G5 effect A + G5 effect B
Double Rare G5 effect A + G5 effect B

G10 effect A + G10 effect B

Which is more cost efficient

SGM

- Must be Merchant
- SGM will last 1 week
- Gemstones from each nation (total of 24)
- 11 Gemstones to combine Rares (5 from own nation, 3 from the other two)
- Successful rate of combining Rares is 50
- If you fail, you lose everything (Including Gemstones and Rares)

G10

- Requires 2592 G1s
- Requires 1648 sards

COST break down

Ok, let’s say if I get a G10 Force and a G10 Hardest item
It is the same as getting G5 Double Rares (Force+Hardest) right?
So which has a lower cost???????

It is hard to answer this question
But I can break down the numbers for an ideal situation




G10

G10 = 1648 sards

Sards = 40 to 50 RE So we will count it as 45 RE

45 x 1648 = 74160

G10 = 2592 G1s

The price of G1 is hard to define
Because price range is very different between different rares
and different parts of the body
but I would take 20 RE as a mean number

2592 x 20 = 51480 RE

The total RE you need to make a G10 is approximately

130000 RE

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------


G5 Double Rares

Assume you are already a Merchant (so 0 cost for that)
Requires 24 Gemstones to become a SGM
800 RE is the current price I see on forum

800 x 24 = 19200

11 Gemstones needed to combine Rares to Double Rares

11 x 24 = 8800

Price of G5 x 2, again... it is hard to say…
So I will use sard = 45 RE G1 = 20 RE same as the calculation above

45 x 22 = 990 (45 sards needed to make G5)

20 x 36 = 720 (36 G1 needed to make G5)

1710 x 2 = 3420 (G5 x 2)

Total amount will be around: 20000 + 12000

32000 RE

However, let’s not forget about the success rate is 50%
So in an ideal world, if you fail 1st time and for 2nd time you will success
20000 + 12000 x 2

44000 RE

would be the total RE needed to make a G5 Double Rare, assuming you fail 1st time, success 2nd time

God knows how many times you will fail, you might success the 1st time and you might also fail 20 times straight



G10 = 130000 RE

20000 + 12000 x 9 = 128000 RE


This basically tells us you can fail up to 8 times and success on the 9th try
Which you can still be better off making a G5 Double Rare comparing to a G10

Well, we know how % works in DR, it is not as ideal as you think

There are 4 possibilities when you get duel quests
Vys Secret, Zyp Secret, Yllse Secret, 50 dual fame
Out of 24 quests, you should get 6 dual fames
How many people have got more than 6 dual fame quests?

That said, it’s impossible to get so many Gemstones in DR now due to the lack of supply
Which on the other hand, sards are easy to get

G10 or G5 Double Rares? I guess it is up to you if you want to take the chances!

double g5 is better.

in several of effect like smart/distant/strike/ca/basic resist/evasion they got like some bonus once they reach g4, so if you get double g5 compare with g10, you have like g12 effect in that item.

example:

G5 Smart 25% (g1 just 3%,g10 37%) + G5 evasion 25% (g1 just 3%,g10 37%)

so in total of effect, smart + evasion total was 50% out of 74, u see little bonus there.

I do think rares got cap by number, not by grade, i mean, +37 is max effect I dont believe 2g5 smart will give you bonus :/ some GM should clarify this

The cap for smart is 37%, so 2x G5 will give the same results as a G10, but a G10 is preferable as it takes 1 item slot instead of 2.

Likewise, a G5 and a G3 will also reach the smart cap of 37% or a G4+G4 for best efficiency.

dunno but im sure if u stack 2 item smart togheter like shoes g3 and robe g5 u get max smart.. -_- need gm to clarify this yet :O

Indeed for me, for the effect, i think G10 set is similar with Double rares set, but remember one things, G10 need so many G1s and sards! So G10 is damn expensive and hard to make!
For double rares, if u are lucky, much less G1s and sards need only, althoough you will need many gemstones, but in the past, gemstones are not so expensive as now!
Therefore, i think double rares are much easier to make than G10 sets!
