By the way when I try to learn first 2 spells(priest) despite I have the stat req and I chose priest spells on char creation it tells me that warrior cannot learn these spells when I click learn

Hello all. Just starting out a char with Priest spells since I want to eventually be a defensive paladin. I can see the weapons asks STR and CON but do I need other stats for spells to work too or that is a lot later? And generally what I should know so I dont screw the char off the bat?
